In the early 1990's a passion for wood led to experimenting by a means of extra maturing Glenmorangie in a different cask for only the last couple of years of maturation. To great successs! this 'finishing' touch adds further characteristics to Glenmorangie's fine taste and the Glenmorangie Extra Matured range was born.
The 'Quintas' or wine estates of Portugal provided the Ruby Port casks for this velvety textured Glenmorangie. 'Ruban' is the Gaelic word for ruby.
